ONE GI-ANT act of love
One day, an ant was blissfully exploring in a new place. He had ventured out on his own, and was very excited about what he may encounter. Just then, the ground below began to shake and shift! That's when he noticed the giants all around him! They were circling around him, as the ground continued to move and shake. One giant in particular kept placing one obstacle after another in front of him. No matter where he went, he felt he would never get out of there! He just wanted to go back home! Just then, he mustered up all of the courage he had inside. If he was going to get out of there at all, he would HAVE to be brave, and climb over the obstacles presented to him. So he went for it! Just then, he found himself traveling on one of the giants, and kept looking frantically for a way down and around, until all of a sudden, the giant makes one last move, and the ant goes flying high into the air until he finally finds himself in the soft, soft grass surrounded by his family and friends. Boy oh boy would he have a story to tell!
One morning, I found my youngest child lying on the ground, watching and highly concerned about something. My boxer, Daisy, was walking around her as well as if to find out what was causing her so much worry. So I asked my daughter what was going on down there? She looked up at me with concern on her face, and said, "I'm trying to keep this poor little ant from getting stepped on. I'm really worried it might get hurt!" She kept moving her hand around the ant, placing a block each way it went in an attempt to get it to go onto her hand so she could take it safely outside, away from all of the dangers indoors, such as getting stepped on by pets or humans. After a while, she finally managed to get it to crawl on her hand, giving it no other choice. Once she was able to take it outside, it wouldn't come off. She kept working to get the ant off of her hand without it being squished, and finally, the ant went flying off of her into the grass outside. "Phew! Now I know it's safe!"
A LITTLE PERSPECTIVE
Have you put your mind into the perspective of another human being or another creature, and thought about something from their point of view? This ant was going about its business when a huge giant lays itself down, providing obstacles in every way, but what the ant didn't realize was that this giant had a giant heart, and knew if she didn't save him, he would surely be squashed. She so lovingly provided the best safety she could to protect this small and innocent creature, and the ant was never the wiser to this type of love and guidance.
How many of you feel as though you've been blocked or completely thrown off course in your lives? What if there is a giant part of you that is looking out for your best interest and safety, but it feels like there are blocks and obstacles? Sometimes it takes a leap of faith and courage, along with trust, so that everything is working for you in a greater way then you had thought or imagined. What if you decided to trust instead? Sometimes it may seem scary, but what if something else, or something greater, is waiting for you, and is being provided out of a greater love you may not even fully understand... yet?
In the beginning of the summer, my family and I decided to plant a big, and beautiful garden to have lots of vegetables to eat. We were so excited!
Yesterday, I was outside, looking at my garden, and immediately felt overwhelmed. Although we had done everything in taking the time to get the ground, the amount of grass, and weeds inside this space was overpowering. We took time and care in getting the soil ready, and planted each seed with loving care. However, now… I was standing there looking at this garden we had so many high hopes for, and although there were many fruits of our labor, I couldn’t see many of them under all of the overgrowth. From what I could see, some of the plants were doing well, and some of them had produced very little, and some had died from neglect.
What happened? What happened was, that we had gotten so busy with other things that we forgot to take care of something that was so important.
So I stood there looking at this place, and decided to get to work, working one area at a time. While I was weeding, I started to go into deep thought about life. So often, we plant things for ourselves we have such high hopes for. We get the ground ready, and are excited to see the fruits of our labor-but often begin to feel over whelmed, and frustrated. Why?
Each plant represents our needs as well as what we want for ourselves- our growth. However, we often forget, grow impatient, and even find ourselves too busy to take care of what’s important. We get caught up in all of the madness, and unimportant things, that we allow seeds we don’t want into this beautiful garden of ours. Weeds come in all shapes, sizes, and they don’t take long to grow. Once they’ve been planted, they can often overrun, and even choke out the plants you had sewn all together.
This garden represents your life, and it depends on the very care you give it. If you are not making yourself as well as those whom you love a priority, and allow negativity into your life, it doesn’t take long for weeds to manifest. This can leave anyone feeling overwhelmed, and frustrated… even feeling hopeless. But there is hope! The best way to fix this is to roll up your sleeves, and to begin eliminate everything in your life that is hurting you in some way. Pull out everything in your life that is negative, especially those that are choking the life out of you, or anything else really important. It takes special time, and care, but each weed eliminated from your life, is so incredibly satisfying, and leaves you with a greater sense of achievement and gratitude!
If you’re looking for hope, here are the best ways to get started:
YOU CAN DO IT!!!
"There's nothing to fear, but fear itself. " That statement couldn't be more true! Every fear begins with a thought. Most of us have awesome imaginations, but unfortunately, many use their imagination applied to the dreaded task of... worry.
